Atlas & Hands

1. Nature of Activities

I understand that Atlas & Hands offers self-guided and staff-supported hands-on creative activities, DIY projects, craft experiences, retail items, open studio sessions, birthday parties, small gatherings, and related activities.

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

• Fuse beads / Perler beads
• Beading, bracelet making, necklace making, phone chains, keychains
• Decoden / cream glue crafts
• Crystal cube projects
• Paper crafts
• Stickers, charms, and small decorative pieces
• Use of craft tools, scissors, tweezers, pliers, glue, craft knives and cutters, heat tools, irons, trays, small parts, beads, and other materials
• Group events, birthday parties, and open studio sessions

2. Assumption of Risk

I understand and voluntarily accept that participation in activities at Atlas & Hands involves inherent and ordinary risks, including but not limited to:

• Paper cuts, and minor cuts, scrapes, or punctures
• Pinching or poking from craft tools
• Burns from heat tools, irons, hot glue, or heated materials
• Skin irritation from glue, cream glue, resin-like materials, paint, markers, or craft supplies
• Allergic reactions
• Choking, swallowing, or ingestion of small parts
• Eye irritation or injury
• Slipping, tripping, or falling
• Damage to clothing or personal belongings from glue, paint, markers, beads, glitter, or craft materials
• Emotional upset, conflict between children, or accidental damage caused by other guests
• Loss or damage of personal items

3. Parent / Guardian Supervision Requirement

I understand that Atlas & Hands is not a daycare, childcare centre, school, camp, or babysitting service.

If I bring a minor child to Atlas & Hands, I agree that:

• I am responsible for supervising the child at all times.
• I must remain aware of where my child is and what my child is doing.
• I must ensure that my child does not run, climb, throw objects, misuse tools or materials, disturb other guests, damage property, or place small objects in their mouth.
• I must ensure that my child follows staff instructions and posted safety rules.
• Atlas & Hands staff may provide general guidance, but staff are not responsible for one-on-one supervision of my child.
• Failure to supervise my child may result in injury, choking, damage, mess, or disruption.

4. Small Parts, Choking, and Ingestion

I understand that Atlas & Hands uses small craft materials, including but not limited to beads, charms, figurines, buttons, stickers, decorative pieces, crystal cubes, and small accessories. I agree that:

• Small parts must not be placed in the mouth, nose, ears, eyes, or any other body part.
• Small parts must not be swallowed, chewed, or misused.
• Food and drinks must be kept separate from craft materials unless staff specifically allow otherwise.
• I must supervise children closely around small parts.
• I am responsible for preventing my child from eating, swallowing, hiding, taking, or misusing craft materials.

5. Tools, Sharp Objects, and Heat Tools

I understand that some projects involve tools or materials that can cause injury if used improperly, including scissors, craft knives and cutters, tweezers, pliers, needles and pins, glue tools, heat tools, irons, sharp edges, and paper, plastic, metal, glass, or decorative pieces.

Participants must use tools only as instructed and only for their intended purpose. I understand that paper cuts, minor cuts, pokes, burns, and similar injuries may occur during normal craft activities, and I accept these risks for myself and for any minor child under my care.

6. Allergies, Sensitivities, and Medical Conditions

I understand that Atlas & Hands may contain or use materials that can cause allergies or sensitivities, including glue, cream glue, adhesives, paint, markers, glitter, beads, plastic items, metal findings, fragrance, cleaning products, latex-like materials, and other craft supplies. I agree that:

• I am responsible for informing Atlas & Hands of any allergies, sensitivities, medical conditions, or special needs before participation.
• I am responsible for determining whether the activities are appropriate for myself or my child.
• I am responsible for carrying and administering any necessary medication, including EpiPens, inhalers, or other emergency medication.
• Atlas & Hands does not provide medical monitoring or allergy supervision.

7. Conduct, Mess, Damage, and Studio Rules

All participants under my care must behave safely and respectfully. Atlas & Hands may ask a participant or group to stop an activity, move seats, leave the studio, or end a session if the participant or group behaves unsafely, damages property, misuses materials, creates excessive mess, disturbs others, refuses to follow staff instructions, takes materials or products without paying, or creates a safety concern.

I agree to pay for any unreasonable cleaning, repair, replacement, or damage costs caused by myself, my child, or any participant under my supervision. This may include broken tools or equipment, damaged furniture or displays, excessive spills of glue, paint, food, drink, or materials, lost or damaged retail products, missing or misused premium charms, figurines, beads, or craft materials, and damage to bathrooms, walls, floors, or fixtures.

Atlas & Hands may charge reasonable cleaning, replacement, repair, or material fees when damage or excessive mess occurs.

8. Personal Property

Atlas & Hands is not responsible for lost, stolen, misplaced, or damaged personal property, including phones, bags, jewellery, clothing, toys, craft projects, or other belongings. I am responsible for keeping track of my own belongings and my child’s belongings.

9. Food and Drinks

Food and drinks may be allowed only in designated areas or during approved events. I agree that food and drinks must not be mixed with craft materials; that I am responsible for food allergies and dietary restrictions for myself and my child; that I am responsible for supervising children while eating or drinking; that I am responsible for cleaning or paying for unreasonable mess caused by food or drinks; and that outside food may be subject to studio rules, event rules, or staff approval.

10. Project Results and Finished Items

DIY projects are handmade and results vary. Atlas & Hands does not guarantee that any project will look exactly like a sample, online image, staff example, or another customer’s project.

Handmade items may break, fall apart, dry unevenly, stain, fade, or become damaged. Some projects require drying, curing, careful handling, or collection at a later time. I am responsible for handling finished projects carefully. Except as required by law, Atlas & Hands is not responsible for damage to finished projects after they are given to the customer.

11. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by California law, I, on behalf of myself, my minor child, my heirs, assigns, family members, guardians, representatives, and estate, release, waive, and discharge Atlas & Hands LLC, its owners, members, managers, employees, contractors, agents, volunteers, landlords, property owners, affiliates, successors, and assigns from any and all claims, demands, liabilities, actions, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to participation in activities, use of the studio, use of materials or tools, attendance at events, or presence on the premises.

This release includes claims arising from ordinary negligence, to the fullest extent permitted by law. It does not apply to claims that cannot lawfully be waived under California law, including gross negligence and wilful misconduct.

12. Agreement Not to Sue

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree not to sue or bring any claim against Atlas & Hands LLC, its owners, employees, contractors, agents, volunteers, landlords, property owners, or affiliates for injuries, damages, losses, or claims arising from ordinary risks, ordinary negligence, participation in activities, use of materials or tools, or presence on the premises.

I understand that I am giving up certain legal rights by signing this agreement.

13. Indemnification

I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Atlas & Hands LLC, its owners, employees, contractors, agents, volunteers, landlords, property owners, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from my participation, my child’s participation, my failure to supervise my child, my child’s conduct, damage or mess caused by myself or my child, violation of studio rules, misuse of tools, materials, or products, or claims brought by or on behalf of a minor child under my care, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

14. Medical Authorization

In the event of an emergency, I authorise Atlas & Hands staff to call 911 or seek emergency medical assistance. Atlas & Hands staff are not medical professionals and are not required to provide medical treatment. I am responsible for any medical expenses, emergency services, ambulance charges, or treatment costs incurred for myself or my child.

15. Acknowledgment of Rules

I agree to follow all posted rules, staff instructions, and safety guidelines. Atlas & Hands may refuse service, end participation, or ask a participant to leave if rules are not followed. No refund is guaranteed if participation is ended due to unsafe behaviour, disruptive conduct, failure to supervise a child, damage, excessive mess, or violation of studio rules.

16. Photographs and Video

I understand that Atlas & Hands may take photographs or video in the studio during sessions, workshops, parties, and events, and that I or my child may appear in them. I grant Atlas & Hands permission to use such photographs and video for its records, social media, website, marketing, and promotional purposes.

If I would prefer that I or my child not appear, I will tell a member of staff, and Atlas & Hands will honour that request.

Atlas & Hands may also use security cameras and operational photographs for safety, incident review, security, and business operations, where permitted by law.

17. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California. If any portion is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

18. Electronic Signature

By typing my name and submitting this form, I agree that my typed name and electronic submission constitute my electronic signature and have the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.

This waiver applies to today’s visit and to future participation at Atlas & Hands unless revoked in writing or replaced by a newer version.
